Objective: to learn names quickly
Summary: participants make up an alliteration using their first name
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Number of participants: unlimited
Description of the activity:
Everyone stands in a circle. One by one they introduce themselves by linking their first name to an adjective which says something about their character. For instance:
- Active Ally
- Jolly Joseph
- Creative Chris
In round two, people in the circle introduce each other: “Next to me is Jolly Joseph,” until you have gone round the whole circle.
Tips & directions:
Once everyone in the group has started to get to know each other a bit, you can ask people to come up with adjectives that fit their neighbors’ personalities.
Turn it into a competitive game: how many names and alliterations can someone remember?
