Objective: acceptance, suspension of judgment, to understand that it is okay to make mistakes
Summary: game where the action and the naming of the action do not match up
Duration: 15 minutes
Number of participants: unlimited (the exercise is done in pairs)
Description of the activity:
Pair up with a partner. Person A pretends to be doing a certain activity, for instance, cooking. Person B asks: ‘What are you doing?’ to which A responds by naming an activity which has nothing to do with cooking (for instance: ‘I’m fishing’). Next, B pretends to fish. A then asks ‘What are you doing?’ to which B responds by naming a totally different activity and A again goes on to pretend to do this activity.
Tips & directions:
- The activities people are acting out and naming should not belong to the same field (e.g. not all sports or kitchen related activities)
- Speed is very important in this exercise.
